Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! makes its return with Ren! Continuing off from the OVA and ending of season 1, this season looks to explore more of the relationship between Yuuta and Rikka, along with its ups and downs which including possible NTR xD
All the lovable characters are back enjoying another year of high school, with some pretty notable changes. First, there is Nibutani who probably went through the most drastic change.
She changed her entire appearance. She now has long black h air, wears a skirt at a length that's way past its time, and attempts to change her manner of speech with phrases like "how do you do?". This is all part of her master plan of crawling up the school power ladder. Not to mention she is still trying to get rid of her chuunibyou past.
Sanae Dekomori, my favorite girl of the show, is now a freshman high school student (which actually makes no difference seeing how she was always shown anyways). If you guys remember correctly, Dekomori was actually really smart, and now she's the student representative who also happens to have had better grades than Nibutani.
Ishiki starts off the show with another ridiculous hairstyle that will probably be gone next episode. Kumin too is the same as she was, except this time she's trying to make people laugh with terrible jokes (that actually do however provide us viewers with a chuckle).
Then there's Rikka and Yuuta. Due to various circumstances, they're now living together, but their relationship hasn't taken a step forward whatsoever. Just by living together, they have become a little more conscious of each other, but still no significant progress. Truly one of the more awkward couples out there.
The animation is as expected from KyoAni so not much to say there. The plot however is something I'm worried about. This new girl that will probably be introduced next episode (and was most likely in the picture that fell out of Yuta's notebook) but what kinds of troubles will she cause? Will she be enough to cause disarray within Yuuta and Rikka's relationship? I don't really see anything serious happening though so maybe we're in for a season full of jokes and their every day school life. Maybe some kind of romance with the other characters?
All in all, I found it to be enjoyable, to say the least. If I were to rate this episode, I'd give it a 7/10 but that's just me.
